Braverman warned that certain individuals might feign their sexuality to exploit the system and obtain preferential treatment in the UK. However, Lineker promptly took to social media to counter her statements, questioning how one could genuinely ascertain another’s sexuality.

This tussle is the latest in a series of controversies involving Lineker and the BBC regarding his social media comments, which earlier this year led to him momentarily stepping away from his presenting role on ‘Match of the Day’.
