Biden’s Blunder: Labels Hamas as ‘the Other Team’ Amid Israel Visit

Nigel Farage criticises President Joe Biden’s misstep in recent Israel trip following Gaza hospital tragedy.

In a recent visit to Israel, amidst the aftermath of a tragic incident at the Al-Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza, President Joe Biden faced backlash for his choice of words when referring to Hamas. Former Brexit Party leader, Nigel Farage, took to social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, to express his disappointment, stating, “How embarrassing was that? Joe Biden arrives in Israel, reads from a script, loses his thread and then calls brutal terrorists of Hamas ‘the other team’.”

The incident at the hospital left hundreds dead and many more injured, with both Israeli and Palestinian authorities blaming each other for the catastrophe. While Biden has exonerated Israel from the blame, stating, “Based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vehemently denied any involvement, attributing the disaster to a “failed Islamic Jihad rocket launch on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.”

Palestinian Authority’s health minister, Mai Alkaila, accused Israel of perpetrating “a massacre”, an accusation that has been strongly refuted by Netanyahu. He elaborated in a social media post, stating that “an analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza at the time it was hit.”

Meanwhile, in the face of rising tensions, UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has urged for calm and precise reporting of the facts surrounding the incident. He emphasised, “Last night, too many jumped to conclusions around the tragic loss of life at Al Ahli hospital. Getting this wrong would put even more lives at risk. Wait for the facts, and report them clearly and accurately. Cool heads must prevail.”

The discourse continues to heat up as the tragic events unfold, with each side of the conflict holding steadfast to their narratives, while international parties urge for a balanced and cautious approach towards establishing the facts surrounding the catastrophic incident at the Gaza hospital.
