Suella Braverman Calls for Immediate Resignation of Met Commissioner Over Biased Policing

In a hard-hitting editorial published by The Telegraph, Suella Braverman has issued a direct challenge to the Metropolitan Police leadership, specifically Commissioner Mark Rowley and Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, for their alleged failures in maintaining impartial law enforcement during recent pro-Palestinian protests.

Braverman, a former government Home Office Minister, accuses them of fostering a policing culture that discriminates against Jewish communities, citing several instances of perceived bias that she argues compromise the integrity of the force.

Braverman’s critique centers on what she describes as a glaring discrepancy in how protests are policed, with pro-Palestinian demonstrators reportedly receiving preferential treatment. This, she claims, is juxtaposed against the harsher scrutiny faced by Jewish individuals during the same events.

One particularly egregious incident involved a Jewish man allegedly being threatened with arrest for appearing “openly Jewish” near a protest site. Such examples, according to Braverman, exemplify a systemic problem rooted in the current leadership’s approach to policing.

Key Points:

  1. Policing Bias: Braverman accuses the Metropolitan Police of operating a two-tier policing system, where pro-Palestinian protesters are handled with undue leniency, while Jewish residents face aggressive and biased law enforcement tactics.
  2. Excessive Costs: The financial burden of policing these frequent protests is significant, with the taxpayer footing a bill exceeding £32 million and over 35,400 police shifts dedicated to these events, diverting resources from other critical policing needs.
  3. Demand for Leadership Change: The editorial calls for the resignation of Commissioner Rowley, holding him directly responsible for the perpetuation of this biased approach and questioning his ability to lead a fair and effective police force.

  1. Who gave Rowley a knighthood it needs removing immediately another knighthood for the boys he’s a disgrace leading khan’s bully boys

  2. The metropolitan police force in is being completely politicised by the mayor of London its quiet obvious even to a child it has double standards and therefore cannot be trusted by the citizens of Britain, and needs to be bought under control and out of the hands of politicians.
